The mission of the San José Youth Chamber Orchestra is to equip young music students with the skills needed for excellent performance. We are constantly led and inspired by the San José Chamber Orchestra and their director, Ms. Barbara Day Turner. The Youth Chamber Orchestra is the recipient of year long coaching and mentoring by the professional artists of the Chamber Orchestra.

Weekly rehearsals culminate in three concerts per year, as well as invitations to special events, such as performances for Mentor Graphics and Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph’s Season of Hope.

Each season is concluded by a Side-by-Side concert, with students of the Youth Orchestra performing alongside members of the San José Chamber Orchestra.This year's Side-By-Side Concert will include a world premiere by local composer, Anica Galindo.

To apply for an audition, please download and submit the Application to Audition. Auditions will be held in April 2008. You will be contacted to arrange an audition appointment. The audition fee is $10.00.
